Why isn't there a such thing? And no, not condoms. They suck.
If there was birth control for men, like a pill, would you take it? EDIT*****A VASECTOMY IS NOT AN OPTION BECAUSE YOU STILL WANT TO HAVE KIDS LATER IN LIFE. |

Snip. Double tie back. No prob. You forgot the cauterization and titanium clips part (X4) I got. As for a safe and reliable pill for men, if that ever did happen, I would have eaten that shit like candy. Imagine men being able to take the pill. That would completely fuck up the female/child support/child support enforcement paradigm. Bring it on. Now. |

it's called a vasectomy. it takes 20 min and then you don't need any special equipment or a prescription. you can also wind up with the "phantom testicular pain". If I had to do it again, no freakin way. My wife is trying to get me to do it. I told her with my luck I'd be one of the 10 or 15% or whatever percentage that end up with that. If there was a pill I could take that had no unwanted effects I would try it. |

There are some options in the works: http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/human-biology/male-bc-pill4.htm
Male birth control sounds like a wonderful thing, and I hope it becomes available soon. Serious question: Would you take male birth control if it had the same possible side-effects as female birth control does? http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/11/06/new-study-highlights-birth-control-pill-s-negative-side-effects.html An Indiana University study presented this week at the American Public Health Association’s annual meeting examined the sexual side effects of all hormonal forms of birth control through a survey of 1,101 women, half of whom were using non-hormonal contraception. The women using the pill and other hormonal methods reported feeling generally less sexy than those using non-hormonal protection. They had fewer orgasms and less-frequent sex, and found it more difficult to get aroused.
The pill is the most popular method of contraception in the country, but it comes with a laundry list of possible side effects, from irksome nausea to breast tenderness. It also carries a rare risk of heart attack, stroke, blood clots, high blood pressure, liver tumors, and gallstones. |

Mind you, it's not like dominatrix hard I'm gonna pummel you with my stiletto heel. It was just not the super gentle caress my sensitive little boys were used to. |

Unless you're in your 20s and no doctor will perform it on you because you're "too young" to know that you don't ever want kids. Just have to find the right doctor. Might take some digging but they exist. |

I'd take it. I am looking in to a vasectomy right now. I was checking out the referral my GP gave me and the guy did not get good marks or comments so I'll have to shop around some more.
We do know we don't want more kids so the vasectomy is probably the best option, but it would be nice to have options other than "snip". "mess with hormones" or "a couple more decades of condoms". |

EDIT*****A VASECTOMY IS NOT AN OPTION BECAUSE YOU STILL WANT TO HAVE KIDS LATER IN LIFE. Birth control for men has been around from ejaculate one. It's really an either or decision, reality sucks sometimes, roll with it. Both of my kids were conceived with wife on birth control. dc. |

You could bank sperm for the future and still get a vasectomy. Otherwise, condoms. No biology-lab hormone garbage going in me or the wife's bodies! just wait until she hits menopause. you wont be able to shove hormones from horse piss down her throat fast enough (Premarin)

Even when a girl is on birth control I still worry. She can forget to take it or just completely fuck you and stop taking it. If I have to take it, I'm in control. Scientists need to get on this, ASAP. This ... I'd take it in a heartbeat as long as potential side effects were not severe. |

If you aren't ready, willing, and able to support a woman's child then wrap it before you slap it. |
| And a vasectomy is an option if you visit a sperm bank first. This allows you to be more selective about who you choose to pay future child support payments to. I had a buddy that did this and got a vasectomy at 25 when he was still single. He could tell you stories for days about women claiming they were pregnant by him. His answer was always either your lying or its someone else's, both answers equal getting the fuck out of here. The one that didn't lie to him he married and they are on their fourth kid together by invitro. |

Invitro costs around $15,000 each time, even a cheaper IUI is around $3,000 and success isn't guaranteed. |

How long has it been since the procedure? The more stories like this I hear the less I want to chance it. |
