Been pondering a system for a while and would prefer to go wireless since our home is concrete filled block (w/rebar) with brick on the outside of said block, and the previous owner who built this fort didn't think to put in any patch-throughs in the walls, and running cables would be a nightmare inside the house since wall gaps from attic are limited.  All windows are big so they should transmit signal w/o issues.  A friend got a Lornex boxed system from Home Depot that seemed nice but it's only 4 channels, I would much prefer 6-8 channels.  I would like to have the option to add one nice zoom capable camera later on as funds permit to aim at the front gate (not a necessity).  I know how expensive this stuff can get but I don't want to drop big bucks if I don't have to.  We are on the gulf coast which means weather so I would consider weather boxes if they prolong the life of the cameras.  Any suggestions/experiences on a kit?  Thanks guys!

Look up Pysoft Active Cam. It turns your PC into a camera server. It's very configurable and will perform several actions when motion is detected. It handles wired or wireless IP cams, as many as you can afford.
