Why does the robot slip the annoying science guy a Mickey? Is it just to find out what happens, or was there something more sinister? A plot between the robot and the old dude? And if you were the annoying science guy, then wouldn't you be disinclined to take a drink after a robot stuck his finger in it?

I think this guy does a better job: Dang it, arfcom is choking on the yahoo link... Prometheus deconstruction... m |

Its a recurring them in all the alien movies.. the androids are irresistibly drawn to the aliens. Maybe because of pure scientific curiosity, maybe because of the Waylan Corps interests (cue secret plot between Waylan and David). The movie is over the heads of most folks I think. It made perfect sense to me, and I thought it was excellent. Especially the whole man meets creator theme that is manifest with the engineers, and on another level as David reconciles with his creators (us). Remember when the engineer flipped out once he saw that we had created David? The god figure was infuriated when he saw his creation man becoming a creator of new life forms (Ai) |

David had a very specific side mission: to find a way for Weyland to live forever. Therefore, it?s possible that David decided to dose Holloway because he wanted to experiment and see if the black goo they found would be the key for Weyland David's Prime Directives: 1. Find a way for Weyland to live forever 2. First weird thing I find I put into another human just in case it's a fountain of youth. 3. Fuck that was a bottle of bleach |

If the black goo was suspended in liquid, inside sealed glass bottles, inside the vases then why did it start oozing out of the top of the vases when they opened the door to the room? If it was -12 degrees inside the pyramid, then why didn't they put their helmets back on? Isn't -12 degrees uncomfortable cold? How did the pyramid dome have a breathable, uncontaminated atmosphere inside when it wasn't sealed and actually had a very fitting design for allowing air to flow freely in from the outside? Why did giant space aliens build pyramid domes with low ceilings at the entrance and a very small doorway to enter the structure from? Why did the black goo come oozing out of the top of the vases when the seam was on the lid of the vases? Wouldn't goo ooze out of a seam in it's container instead of the unseamed top? Why did the put the black goo in glass jars and the pack the glass bottles in the vases packed in black goo? Why did the aliens build a chemical weapons laboratory with a dirt floor? Don't chemical weapons development laboratories need to be sterile? Why did they paint a beautiful mural on the ceiling of their store room? What did the beautiful mural depict? Why did they reference the murals twice without letting us know what the murals depicted? Why did intergalactic space aliens with mastery of DNA manipulation build a space ship that is controlled by a flute? If someone needed to sit in a chair shaped like a giant boner in order to fly the spaceship, then why did all of the space aliens get into their sleep chambers instead of flying the ship? Why did they reference the giant boner chair from Alien, and explain the outfit that the engineer sitting in the giant boner chair in Alien was wearing, and the have the Engineer die in a completely different place? Who is sitting in the giant boner chair in Alien? Did more than one Engineer survive? Wouldn't having one spaceship going full speed into another spaceship and creating a huge explosion cause the spaceship that got crashed into to break apart into a lot more pieces? How did the fully developed alien looking elf like creature at the end of the movie survive on a barren, lifeless planet to propagate and evolve into the aliens from the movies that this movie is a prequel to? How did Naomi plan to survive her journey to the engineer's home world? What did she plan to eat? What did she plan to drink? Was there water on the other ship? Was her physiology compatible with the sleep chambers designed for the engineers? |

Noomi Rapeface! |
|
Was the ship that Noami took to the engineer's home world loaded with thousands of canisters of black goo? If a human that the Engineers had created, decided to destroy and then changed their minds about destroying showed up at their planet with one of their cargo ships filled with the biological weapons they had created to destroy the humans, then don't you think that the Engineers would have changed their minds about changing their minds about destroying humanity and decide that they better finish what they started and stopped? Do we know for a fact that the Engineers changed their minds about destroying humanity? Maybe the horrible accident which killed everyone at their weapons facility just convinced them to stop with that method, but their hatred and disapproval for humanity still existed. Wouldn't that make it a dumb idea to go to their planet with a cargo ship full of biological weapons? Why did Naomi bring the robot's body back with her as well as the head? Is she going to fix him? What is she going to fix him with? Are there tools on the alien ship that are useful for fixing robots designed by humans? How does an archeologist know how to fix robots? What will she do if there are some robot parts which need to be replaced because they were too badly damaged? What sends out the distress signal that alerts the Nostromo to go to the planet in Alien? How did the cargo hold of the crashed alien ship in Prometheus get filled with eggs in Alien? |

Quoted: The robot was blind the whole time. If the robot was blind the whole time, then why did he visually examine; the green goo, the black goo, the hologram of Earth on the Alien ship, the method in which the holograms of the engineers manipulated the controls on the ship, watch movies, style his hair to math the hairstyle of characters in the movie he watched, video tutorials on how to speak ancient languages, alien writing on the walls of the weapons installation and ultrasound results on Shaw? |

Quoted:
Because obviously, in the year 2093 when we have the technology to fly to other planets with space ships and build robots that are almost indistinguishable from humans - the best way to examine an unknown substance is to make someone ingest it. He's more of a social science guy than a hard science guy. |

It wasn't really hard to understand, just disappointing. The origin-of-life-thematic wasn't needed to weave a good tale. They could've stuck with the original idea of the non-humanoid space jockey & made a more malevolent background for their plotting. Every time a producer tries to imbue their "message" with excessive depth, they invariably go off into the weeds & into the deep end. I think Ridley's age is getting to him. |

If the Engineers got into their sleep pods because they were under orders not to leave, then why did the engineer immediately start to leave when the humans woke him up? Did being woken up negate his stand orders which caused him to go into a stasis pod for 2,000 years? Wouldn't you have expected a soldier (if he was indeed a soldier) to have tried to contact his superiors to report that humans had infiltrated their base, woken him up and then requested instructions? |

Ya lets fiddle around with unknown microbes without our helmets, see alien penis snake things and stick our faces almost on it what the fuck could go wrong...
Hey lets awake a GIANT alien motherfucker and let the droids translate for us... while scrotie mcbooger nuts over there snivels for more life.. YA fuck that shit, nuke from orbit let god or whoever sort it out. |
