TEXAS NEEDS HELP!
Our State Legislature only meets ONCE every TWO YEARS. Our Special Legislative Session ENDS at the end of JUNE!! Governor Rick Perry says he upholds second amendment issues high, but has neglected to add Second Amendment issues such as Campus Carry, Open Carry, and less restrictions to CHL Holders!!! PLEASE!! Even if you are not a Constituent of Texas, PLEASE CALL 512-463-2000 and tell the Governors office to BRING SECOND AMENDMENT ISSUES TO THE TABLE IN THE SPECIAL SESSION!!! If we do not provide the same forward momentum to bring our Second Amendment rights to the table as our leftist opponents are bringing to take them away, WE WILL LOSE! Texas may seem like a Conservative bastion for Gun Owners, but OUR GOVERNOR NEEDS TO PROVE IT by MORE than just bringing in jobs and wooing the public -- He needs to support our Second Amendment Rights in the Special Session-- ONLY GOVERNOR PERRY can bring 2A issues to the table for a Special Session, and TIME IS RUNNING OUT!! The Governor has released a Statement to the Associated Press that he has added all he is going to add to the Special Session. CALL HIM AND MAKE HIM CHANGE HIS MIND!!! IT IS NOT TOO LATE! Call the Governor at 512-463-2000 and leave a message or talk to a representative!!! |

I've been emailing, calling, and faxing for the past 2 weeks. This. Yet again, financial issues are still being fought over at the expense of gun rights. I both love and hate the way we set up the legislature. It's great they don't spend 24/7 passing BS laws, but damn it I'd like to see Campus carry /open carry passed. At least switchblades got legalized and class time/ renewals moved in a positive direction. Slow progress is better than none.

We want them (In 2015) to look back and say "Wow, there was a BIG push by the people for 2A issues". If we make it an issue in the elections, we might get simple things like OC and Campus Carry passed, but we might also get them thinking up and bringing forth more 2A bills. |

Left a message encouraging Perry to bring up more 2A stuff in the special session, so that you Texans might catch up with Nevada.
/Nevada, who just ducked a big bullet, in part thanks to you folks calling in to support us. We won't forget.
Thanks! We sure appreciate it! I hope the phone calls to Governor Perry help him to get in gear and do what needs to be done! |

But we need to take every advantage we can. |

Spoke with Governor Perry's office earlier this morning expressing my appreciation for the Governor's strong support of our 2nd Amendment rights in Texas, and my encouragement for the Governor to add a second Special Session 83(2) to specifically progress 2A legislation, particularly HB12 (Toth) filed on 5/28/13.
I applaud the Governor's aggressive solicitation for firearm manufacturers to relocate to Texas, but in addition to the favorable business case, I think the political message from Texas Legislators regarding unwavering 2A support and the future stability that provides would be of equal importance for manufacturers contemplating a move to our great State. Thanks to all who have made calls and sent emails. Keep those calls coming into to the Governor's office... |

Don't care. Of course, after all, why would you care about restoring gun rights? Don't care about it one way or the other. I don't think it's worth the political capital but if it happens I'm fine with it. Or because you like seeing liberal victories. Dont worry, I wouldnt piss on you to save you from a fire. For those that are calling and emailing, thank you! |

I'll put my Second Amendment bonafides up against yours ANY DAY. ANY DAY so you can stick that in your ass. I just don't think open carry is worth what it's going to take to get done. And if you want to start measuring let's find a fellow Texan from the forum to appoint and I'll gladly provide my details.....PM sent. |

I've put my time in for the Second Amendment- over 20 years worth in many activities- everything from helping to write legislation to volunteering as an instructor, hosting training courses, to donating considerable funds. I won't have my 2A credentials questioned by someone I'm certain has done ONE HELL OF A LOT LESS. He can be a man and put up or shut up or at least allow that reasonable people can have a difference of opinion on the matter. |
