Saw a "dark" area on a pecan tree in the front yard...
Thought maybe an owl or something... Got closer... WTF? 
There's another slab or two on the backside of the same tree... None elsewhere, so far... p |

In traditional arfcom fashion, the best way to kill those bastards is with fire. Maybe 2/1 gas diesel mix in a pump sprayer will do the trick. Where I live, fire suppression is spotty, at best...
