Well, the tornadoes missed me by a mile or so. The worst damage is about 6 miles away.

Not a bit. Power flickered badly for a few hours, but nothing else. No branches down, nothing.

Me too; it got a little tense that night.

The county has pitched in hard to help; they had to ask people to stop volunteering and bringing stuff for now until they could catch up distributing. Local churches and businesses opened up for shelters; the local vets and dog boarding places all offered free services, etc. It has been refreshing to see everyone coming together.
Last I heard was 12 dead; mostly in the Indian Lake area.

It’s awesome that everyone is pitching in but damn that is sad. Glad you are ok.

I broke a tooth below the gum line a few weeks ago during a bad dream and procrastinated about going to the dentist until I lost 15lbs because I just stopped eating and then got an abscess.

Follow me for more insights on how to seriously fuck yourself up with stupid little things that can be easily fixed.

Got it yanked today, think it came out in a 3 or 4 pieces.

Front bottom tooth. I’m getting something called a flipper (idk what that is but it’s temporary) and already had some graft material put on my jaw bone in preparation for an implant. The implant takes months from the time you have an extraction until the time they put the actual tooth thing in.

My wife actually has an appointment Tuesday for the graft material thing for the tooth she broke a couple weeks ago.

We feel your physical and financial pain.

That's fucked bro.

The fact you're a functional human being and not an alcoholic (right?) is pretty amazing.

Yeah I don’t drink or do drugs (besides caffeine and nicotine).

Want to know what blows my mind though? The fact that everyone, every single person in the military, , cops, firefighters, EMS, S&R, hospital staff , all that shit, they all know that drinking is literally the worst thing you can do if you are have some traumatic shit happening yet 95% or more stilll hit the bars or the bottle after bad shit happens. And they do it proudly, they do it as a group, they do it with a wink and nod from CO’s and supervisors. It fucking blows my mind and I’ll go to the grave begging everyone I know that’s going through stuff to stay away from booze and drugs, and I’ll lose to their immediate coworkers and bosses who still encourage it and excuse it even though they all know that they are just digging each others mental or physical graves.

Yeah even with good insurance it’s still a huge expense, but from my understanding in the longer term it’s the best, longest lasting and easiest to maintain. I’ll keep telling myself that too no matter what.

Nice! I wonder if we will end up with implants on the same day and be dental twins.

I’m Actually curious about the time frame they told her? For me they said from the time of extraction to the whole implant being done it’s 8-9 months, so I’m hoping it’s a Christmas present to myself.

They told her three months for the implant, and three months for the crown after that. Your metabolism can play a part in how fast your graft heals. Men heal faster than women.

So basically 6 months for her

I get it. Even after I quit I still would have about a pack a year. I quit for good when a urologist shoved a camera up my dick looking to see if I had nicotine induced bladder cancer. That suuuuuuucked.

I had that done when I was bleeding from my urethra. Lots of fun.  Turned out to be a calcification build up in my prostate.
But hey, a colonoscopy holds no terror for us now.

I quit smoking in 2001 (Zyban). But I have been having dreams that I am smoking occasionally; I don't know what to make of it. I have no desire to go back to cigarettes.

That was 9/28/21. They removed portion of my lower right lung, I also have emphysema. My pulmonary function now is 30%.
This is mostly the result of being exposed to industrial toxins and smoking. 60yrs ago restrictions were very limited.
