So my 6-year-old son and I are going camping this weekend.
Over breakfast, I ask him "so which rifle should we bring with us?" He says "hmmmmm, I don't know" I say "I was thinking about the 30-30 and we can bring your lever action too" He says "what's the best?" I say "well that depends on what you're shooting... We're not hunting, so this is for protection from bad guys." He says (after a few moments of deep thought). "I guess we should bring a machine gun then" |

"I guess we should bring a machine gun then" Clearly, you now have a reason and a mandate to go directly to your nearest NFA store after you return from your camping trip, and fill out a form four, whip out the credit and start the process to buy a machinegun. Do it you for your children. You'll never have a better reason. |

Where we're going, we're much more likely to see bears or mountain lions than people. I think the 30-30 will do. I have seen a bear take 5 rounds of 30-30 while killing 3 dogs......didnt seem to phase him until he took the 6th to the dome! Anything is possible, but black bear are not really thick skinned animals and as long as you put a round in the boiler room they will go down quick. |
