See my brilliant dissertation of serverless restaurants here.  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1480384_Restaurants_without_servers_.html

Now you'll never again be ignored by bartenders that look like the woman in this video.

Does it have to give you a breathalyzer test before serving you? Does it have to confiscate your keys or call the cops on you if you look like you are going to drive drunk?

There is something about calling an IT powered restaurant "serverless" that makes me laugh.

How much does that cost and can I get one.

Tipping and blading at a 45 is going to get awkward.

Meh.  I don't go out to bars that much anymore...and when I do, its not the kind that are so crowded that getting igonored is something I even have to worry about.  Plus, call me old fashioned, but I like actually getting served my drink by a real person.

Cutting edge technology...my ass. I made a better one than that 10 years ago.

And as for the breathalyzer, I made one of those too...

Shooting the shit with the bartender is half the fun.

That's pretty cool.

No it won't completely eliminate servers in restaurants, most people go to restaurants and bars for service, and experience.  But it will reduce waste and labor expense.

I think that is because it is easier to train a paid idiot how to barely operate a cashier, than it is to have the general public learn even the most basic selection system.

Any idea how much this cost?

I went to the website and it didn't list cost, instead you can contact a "sales rep" which means there's some substantial cost to buying it.

It looks like the paint machine (other than the display) I used at sears 25 years ago...

Yes, but is it liable if it over serves a customer and he gets in an accident on the way home?

I'm not seeing how that machine can make a mint julep let alone good one.

"meh" it takes the fun out of it...
bartender doing fancy pour moves pretending they made you a real strong drink while your too drunk to notice
that relationship you build leaning across the bar screaming in the bartenders ear names of drinks that would make your mom blush
"CAN I GET A WET PUSSY, A TINY DICK, AND TWO HAIRY NIPPLES???"  "OHH AND A BUD LIGHT"
I cant tell that stupid machine to send a drink down to that long legged blonde at the end of the bar either

Exactly. I'd be OK with one for home use as long as I could tweak the pour levels.

It'd be perfect for a busy establishment that has a service well off to the side.

It won't work here.  People want to SEE their drink being made.  How about a shaken martini, three olives and two drops of vermouth?  It would be good for home or "the pool" where kids are drinking high balls.  Mojitos?  Maybe for the cheap drink crowds.

I still think a friendly pretty big titted bar tending girl that takes no shit, pours deep and will laugh at our stupid jokes will make most places more than she costs.

People don't go down to the corner vending machine and spend all night buying cans of beer out of it in Germany, even though they have beer vending machines.

I think the niche for a good bar tender is secure, but a lot of restaurants are going to buy the next version.  You know. The one that handles the glass, ice, and garnish on its own and can handle the work load of a good sized family dining place.

This version would work if you had one at each table, and it handled taking your food order too.  It'd be expensive, but it might actually increase the number of drinks sold because you could browse and it would be instant satisfaction.

What will girls >21 that live in small towns in Nebraska do for work?

Seriously.  When my sister went to school there she had dorm mates that could work in a bar in their small home towns and serve food and soft drinks but not serve liquor.
