So... Twice I've tried to use my credit card at my local gun store to pick up a few more magazines.

The reader is telling them "invalid card#" when swiped. So they enter the info manually and it still says the same thing.

I though maybe my number had been hacked again, but when I called my credit union, they said my card was fine and that the charge request was not even reaching them to be approved or denied.

The card works everywhere else, just not at my LGS. They are going to ask their accounting guy that deals with the processor to look into it.

Anybody got any idea what might be up?

I'm assuming other people were able to complete transactions at the gun store?

Perhaps the ISO or Processor that the gun shop was using doesn't complete transactions with your credit union.

Good on you for using a credit union, though.

Could possibly be a address/zip code miss match. I work for and bank at a local CU and this is a fairly common problem, actually happens with my debit card every  so often. Some merchants know that certain FI cards won't work at their business. I manage our ATM network and work closely with our Debit Card Processing team, they get complaints frequently.

IIRC that what happens with our machines when we run an American express and we dont accept that CC

EDIT now that I think about it that might be "Invalid Merchant"

Call the # on the back of the card, if that's not the # you called already.
