Woke up this morning with my eyes almost sealed shut with gack. Swollen eyelids
and horribly bloodshot. I've had conjunctivitius once before - about 15 years ago, but I think it's what I've got now. Great - on a holiday weekend to boot. Wont be able to see my Eye Dr. till tuesday but what can I do in the meantime to limit the "itchyness and goo" coming from my face? I have "Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates and Gramicidin Opthalmic Solution" eye drops my daughter got last month and I believe this is whats used to treat pink eye. Should I take an antibiotic too? What do I do when I want to rip my eyeballs out? Hot compress? Cold Compress. Any help appreciated as I dont think an ER visit is worth this.... |

Quoted:
Oleoresin Capsicum on your fingers. It won't clear up your eyes, but it'll keep you from rubbing them. And goto urgent care. They'll help you with the other stuff. Thats pretty funny actually. I have a pretty impressive collection of superhot sauces. Im torn as to whether I want the burn of "hot pepper eye" or the itch of F'n pink eye. I'm seriously toying with the idea of seeding a habanero then rubbing my eye. At least it would take the itch away right? |

Warm (hot as you can stand) wet high content saline compresses for 15 min at a time wash with anti-bacterial soap, pat dry and repeat. Wash hands off frequently with rubbing alcohol.
Make saline by putting two tablespoons of table salt in two cups of hot water. The saline will help draw out the infection. Get some good whiskey and/or beer and drink it. You are miserable, and stuck at home, might as well get drunk. |
