Im going to school for accounting and need to pick a "collateral/concentration". My options for collaterals are finance, information management, international business, and logistics. The only one for a concentration is international business.
So which one would benefit me the most in the long run? job security, money, promotions, rewarding, all the greedy stuff
Thanks for any help |

I'd seriously consider the Information Management. Being knowledgeable about IT technology, systems, and the role(s) they play in the day-to-day success/failure of an organization, are going to be a plus when you are interviewing for a job.
Plus, the accounting field is really beginning to embrace the "paperless" concept, and relying more on technology now than they have in the last 20 years or so. If you get into the auditing area of the field you'll need to be able to understand the IT infrastructure of a company in order to be able to properly plan/perform an effective audit. This is doubly true if you end up working on a publicly traded company. |

Don't change your major. Honestly the concentration won't matter, what is it three courses? I/S or finance. ya something like that. Wasnt planning on doing it. I couldnt really change majors anyway, the classes Ive taken dont really transfer to anything else |

finance would be beneficial for any area of acct logistics will help you if you go into cost accounting Information management would help you with auditing. If I was you I would just change my major. Change my major? why? sorry, it was more a reflection of how much I hate the profession and can not wait to get out of it |

Rethinking this after a shitty morning, sorry for my comments earlier, I would take information management and either logistics or fin. You will need credit hours regardless, if you plan on taking the CPA exam, and it will help you to understand what the other parts of the organization are doing. It will give some perspective that alot of the individuals in the profession are lacking. |

CPA here. Finance & IM. Every company has a CFO. Thats the job you want.
You have to know financial accounting, and the IT systems, top to bottom, to get there. Dont get sidetracked into cost or some other speccialty that paints you into a corner professionally. |
