I have to go in to a google installation every day. Once those motherfuckers all start wearing those things, winking at me to take pics...

Well, I won't be able to tolerate it. Not that they WANT pics of me, just that they're all brainwashed fucking morons who'll snap pics of everything that crosses their field of vision.

To the best of my knowledge there are no pics of me online anywhere.

Who do I sue once they start doing this shit?

It's the one piece of persec I've never violated, and yet it's coming to us ALL sooner or later.

How does it discern the difference between a wink and a blink? Does it take pics every time you blink?

They invite me in to their hipster douchebag hellhole by requesting our company's presence every day. I'm not there voluntarily. It's not "out in public".

If you've never been in a google installation you have no conception of douchebaggery. NONE!

They are different. Blink is just the eyelid, wink is (warning:technical terms)the whole surrounding bit.

The thing distinguishes between an eye blink and a conscious wink somehow. A wink takes a picture. Or initiates video recording.

Well, at least you have the cafeteria. I've always heard it's a great place to work.

You do know that Glass isn't all about surveilling others?  It's capable of taking pictures and video, but that doesn't mean they're doing it constantly.

For the most part, it's an output device.

It's fun to go in there every day and see the 60" display up on the wall scrolling real-time search terms... Puppies with a ball.. Ass fucking babies.. Changing plugs Ford engine.. Selena Gomez pussy... Mother's Day flowers...

All rolling across the screen behind the receptionist's head.

Hell, one of y'all do one at about 1625 central time next Monday, make it something real.. I'll see if it shows up on the display there...

Google isn't evil at all... of course not.

Great. Next thing you know, someone will say, "there oughta be a law..." Just what we need, more stupid laws telling people what they can and can't wear/do.

As usual the technology is evolving faster than laws protecting privacy.

So we'll have self-absorbed narcissists  walking down the street, streaming their every day lives to the Net because they think someone actually gives a shit about their puny little lives.  And you will be part of their stupid little puppet show, like it or not.

You thought you had any expectation of privacy in public?  Ha.  It'll be interesting to see how private businesses react once the Glass devices become commonplace.  Wonder how many will say hell no, you cannot film and stream the inside of my business and my customers.

Is there a way to block wifi in a business or in a home?  Like you can do with cell phones?

Looks like jammers are illegal, even in a business or home.  See HERE

I submit it will prove desirable  to get the laws changed to allow wi-fi jamming or make it illegal use Glass-like devices inside a home or business if the owner says turn them off.  I know if I had a business I'd be saying take that thing off, you aren't video'ing my customers.  For sure in the "privacy of my own home" I would.

the internet is now the public.

Seriously.  it's becoming one and the same.  So what if there is a picture or video of you walking down the street?  People aren't violating your privacy by looking at you when you're in public.  This is no different.

I find it offensive and undesirable for another reason as well...

I made a conscious decision years ago to not put pictures of myself on the internet. Never have, not once.

Now I realize that there a probably images of me in photos that family or friends have put on f-book, but I'd doubt that I'm identified by name in those. But with the extremely evil f-book facial recognition program, which beams your goddamned face to everyone who has an image of you... how long until I start getting texts, emails, phone calls from the few who do have pics of me saying, "hey, I saw were at ... whatever.. at work, at a concert, a bar... whatever.."

Just because some random fucking douchebag is snapping pics of every instant of his life and posting them instantly to f-book?

"You said you couldn't come to my get together because you had chores to do, but I see a pic dated 5/12/13 of you in a restaurant? WTF man?"...

Do y'all see the potential problem here?

Thought I'd share this from ZoneAlarm. I use this their Extreme Security on my 'puter. If they perceive this as a possible invasion of privacy, it probably is; and Google isn't noted for its resistance to .gov "coercion", in their case, just asking for the stuff. "Yeah sure, here are the 27 terabillion searches with their IPs; glad to help Mr. Agent Man."

Anti-gunners wearing them to the range - a new way for "concerned citizens" to help the Gestapo/SD or the KGB protect the chilluns.

Yeah I do.  You seem to think that:

- random people are going to take massive amounts of random ass pictures all over the place (some will, don't get me wrong, most others kinda want to find something at least halfway interesting before snapping photos)
- that these photos may include you
- something like FaceBook will somehow automatically recognize you (it doesn't, people have to identify you manually in photos)
- that if some random person snaps a picture in some random place that you happen to be, random people will start sending you text, emails and start calling you

Honestly your reaction seems to me a lot like anti-gunners:  Only seeing the potential misuses of a particular device.

We have a no-recording device policy in my workspace unless explicitly authorized by the supervisor.  That would be me.  No google glass inside, although it's kosher  on the other side of the picture window to the hallway.  I'm much more concerned about surreptitious audio surveillance than people taking pictures.

The only, and I mean, the only way I'd wear something similar is if a manufacturer would put together goggles that could be worn over glasses (or be prescription) that had a full HUD tied into a vehicle mounted night vision, mph, direction, radar/lidar detector, vehicle radar/range device which could be used on a motorcycle.

I think it's an inevitable technology and people will wear these things or something similar in the future.  These devices have been talked about for the past 50 years of science fiction so it's a given that they would eventually show up in mass production.

Personally I do not like the implications of the privacy loss associated with these devices.  I love the idea, in a perfect world it would be great, but the real practice is too ripe for abuse.
