Am predicting this will go over well... Jump the shark...he DOES!
Radio Host to Lead Armed March on DC July 4th 'To Put Gov't on Notice that We Won't be Intimidated'
"Libertarian activist and radio host, Adam Kokesh plans to lead an armed march on Washington, D.C. this Independence Day." http://cnsnews.com/blog/gregory-gwyn-williams-jr/radio-host-lead-armed-march-dc-july-4th-put-govt-notice-we-wont-be link to facebook that works.. https://www.facebook.com/ADAMVSTHEMAN "Warning"... getting arrested with loaded guns in DC is a felony but hey more power to him! We "talk the talk" whilst he "walks the walk" unfortunately I am sure he will get soundly thumped for it!
Then again if say 500,000 folks showed up fully armed... just what COULD and WOULD they do about it? |

I wonder how many National Guard and DC police they are going to have waiting for the marchers? I agree in spirit, but, it could turn into another Waco if a shot got fired. Boson had 9,000 in about 12 hours. There's no practical way for you to organize an event like this without LE being ready. So, assume 20,000 just to be on the safe side. Using the traditional numerical advantage of 5:1, that means you need 100,000 armed men in fighting condition to have a high probability of victory. And, of course, your intent is NOT to fight. Which means: 1) You fight, most of your guys run, thousands dead on both sides, nationwide gun confiscation the next day. 2) You don't fight, LE spends all their time glassing and taking pictures, you get arrested and tried one by one over the next year. And you're right - The MPD won't prosecute murders because it's hard to do that, and try don't want to lock up black people. But if you make it easy for them to nail your ass to the wall? Watch how fast it happens. |
|
First, I don't think this will happen.
Second, if by some chance some people do show up armed with guns I hope they are quickly and quietly removed. This type of activity is just what the left needs to further their agenda. Nut cases like this will become the face of the gun rights movement and nothing good will come of it. |

The Bonus Army
In 1924, a grateful Congress voted to give a bonus to World War I veterans - $1.25 for each day served overseas, $1.00 for each day served in the States. The catch was that payment would not be made until 1945. However, by 1932 the nation had slipped into the dark days of the Depression and the unemployed veterans wanted their money immediately. In May of that year, some 15,000 veterans, many unemployed and destitute, descended on Washington, D.C. to demand immediate payment of their bonus. They proclaimed themselves the Bonus Expeditionary Force but the public dubbed them the "Bonus Army." Raising ramshackle camps at various places around the city, they waited. A month later, on July 28, Attorney General Mitchell ordered the evacuation of the veterans from all government property, Entrusted with the job, the Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two marchers killed. Learning of the shooting at lunch, President Hoover ordered the army to clear out the veterans. Infantry and cavalry supported by six tanks were dispatched with Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur in command. Major Dwight D. Eisenhower served as his liaison with Washington police and Major George Patton led the cavalry. By 4:45 P.M. the troops were massed on Pennsylvania Ave. below the Capitol. Thousands of Civil Service employees spilled out of work and lined the streets to watch. The veterans, assuming the military display was in their honor, cheered. Suddenly Patton's troopers turned and charged. "Shame, Shame" the spectators cried. Soldiers with fixed bayonets followed, hurling tear gas into the crowd. By nightfall the BEF had retreated across the Anacostia River where Hoover ordered MacArthur to stop. Ignoring the command, the general led his infantry to the main camp. By early morning the 10,000 inhabitants were routed and the camp in flames. Two babies died and nearby hospitals overwhelmed with casualties. Eisenhower later wrote, "the whole scene was pitiful. The veterans were ragged, ill-fed, and felt themselves badly abused. To suddenly see the whole encampment going up in flames just added to the pity The Bonus Army |

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I don't have kids, my parents are up in age and my mother is dying of cancer. No criminal record. I'm a perfect candidate for testing this boundary. |

Fuck it. I'm there. I need to read up on this. Yes you do. And no you do not want to go there or be anywhere near there. Adam Kokesh is to be avoided like a plague. A million times this. In the history of monumentally stupid ideas, this is one of the most monumentally stupid. |

It takes bigger stones than I've got. Who's gonna say "Follow me!" and then turn around a few seconds later and see there's no one there. It would be awesome to see a huge crowd, but we're not there yet. |

Quote from article.. The event is said to be non-violent and states that if the group is met with physical resistance, they will turn back. OK, this is just retarded, why go armed and intentionally break the law like that just to turn back. That is just begging for trouble and rightfully so. Stupid I say... Just stay in Virginia, or if you want to go and show some muscle than don't broadcast it on facebook. "when it's time to shoot...Shoot...don't talk"

It's often surprising how many people seem to think that the US government has always shown restraint and courtesy towards those who exercise their 1st amendment rights. |
