I can't believe that I just heard CNN say, "The real unemployment figure is at 13.9%" ... and the additional jobs added in April make very little difference when compared to the 12 million jobs President Barack promised us back in his presidential campaign! I swear I thought I'd never hear CNN actually say something negative about "The Prez" .....
Maybe, just maybe there is a very small glimmer of hope that reality is starting to sink in?? |

I actually heard this on CNN on Friday as well. They mentioned the U6 rate.
There was a moment of awkward silence and tittering after the percentage then they changed the topic after saying something like, "Oh, imagine how much worse it would be without the stimulus and other measures the administration has been taking, and how much the sequester must be driving this number!" The anchors looked really uncomfortable. |

They were just talking about this on the Canadian Business News channel the other day. They said if the U.S. used the same formula as Canada for calculating unemployment, the U.S. rate would be over 14%. The Canadian rate was 7.1- 7.2. |
