In this thread we will discuss nothing but Vodka.

I am in need of a bottle, and have never tried any.  Let the recommendations flow.

Kettle One

Its Vodka, not Scotch.  The stuff doesn't have much of a taste.

Did you just turn 21 or something?  I don't drink it anymore, but Tito's is pretty good.  I am a Stoli guy when I did drink it.

Thats about it.

Absolut has a clean, neutral taste and Is my usual preference. Smirnoff tastes good and is cheap. Grey Goose is nice, kind of soft on the palate. In any case, I always keep them in the freezer. It gives the liquor a bit of mouth feel and conserves ice cubes for drinks that need them.

Absolute, Three Olives or Kettle One. You looking for a flavor?
4/18/2013 6:55:11 PM EDT
[#8]
Forgot about Solichnya. The Russians do know how vodka's done right. In East Berlin I once had another brand I don't remember the name of. Yeah, it was that good.

34.

I don't know why, I have just never had any before.

Anything 6 times distilled; at that point it is pretty much free of impurities and it all tastes the same. Buy the cheapest. I like Ruskova and the Costco stuff.

I don't mix drinks, so I am looking for a good smooth Vodka to drink straight.

Luksusowa.

I like Tito's but I usually have it in mixed drinks so I'm not going to be spending big money on something that's going to get cut down.

Again, good vodka all tastes the same. Anyone that tells you otherwise is fooling themselves or selling vodka.

my recommendation, drink something besides vodka.

Have your tried Everclear?

Pure alcohol.  EXCELLENT for shots or sipping.

If you want something different (I recommend you start with Kettle One, Finlandia, Froggy B), try Zubrowka, made with Bison grass, gives it a unique taste for a vodka.  Give it a shot a room temp and then mix it with apple juice and ice.  One of the best and simplest drinks around.

Belvedere is VERY good.

Tenure is a cheaper polish vodka that is pretty much as good (and the name makes me giggle).  I recommend it.

Just picked up a half gallon, tonight, $27.00 and good stuff. I used to drink Grey Goose and switched to this on a friends recommendation, huge price difference and I can't tell the difference when mixed, I don't drink straight.

plain, not flavored.

anything over $15, stay under $25.

I've always liked Stoli.

Also, I believe the Internet appropriate spelling is Vodak.

Along with SKYY vodka and our own Rain

Grey Goose may be good vodka, but I'm not buying anything from France.

I strongly favor Belvedere if I'm drinking vodka, or cold river

Edit to add - Smirnoff for a cheap fix.

My humble opinion

Sobieski, highly underrated Polish vodka that can be sipped straight.  Tried Tito's and wasn't impressed with it straight, would probably be fine mixed though.

Grey Goose is good but way overrated by people who know nothing about vodka.

1. All time favorite is Ketel One (I like Ciroc also but is more of a name)
2. Medium priced vodka (used to be cheaper) Titos Vodka
3. Cheap underrated vodka good on the rocks or in mix drinks. Sobieski Vodka

I am right everyone else is wrong.

Grey Goose for straight up

For mix

Any coconut flavor vodka
real coconut juice
lemon juice
ice
