| I wonder why within 2 hours the Feds knew who was responsible for 9/11. It has been two days and they have no idea who is responsible for the marathon bombings. What gives? Sounds very suspicious to me! |

Perhaps because with 9/11 the passenger manifests were available to look at and near identical groups of 5 Saudis in each plane is obviously suspicious. There is no central list of spectators at the Boston Marathon and (as of yesterday) over 5 terabytes of video/photos to go through.

Less worrying about the possibility of a terrorist attack, then, so less effort was needed to cover tracks. Since 9/11, a lot of effort has been spent on finding terrorists before they do something, and on taking out their leadership. This means they have to work harder to cover their tracks, are less likely to do anything large scale, and have less of a leadership structure. Welcome to today. |
We did not "know" who was behind 9/11 2 hours after the attack.  We had a pretty good idea who was behind it but there was no solid evidence. It was a couple weeks before the FBI was able to put together all the passenger lists and start comparing names and itineraries to ID all of the hijackers and figure out where they came from.
OP, the entire premise of your post is way off base. Just out of curiosity how old were you on 9/11? |

There are tons of surveillance tapes...the gov says it has 3 terabytes of video and images  I'm thinking that with their facial recognition software and all, they'll have a suspect soon enough. OP, the entire premise of your post is way off base. Just out of curiosity how old were you on 9/11? This. I do remember seeing a couple of Taliban spokesmen on TV saying it wasn't them. Anyone remember that video? If i remember correctly, It was a couple of days after 9/11. |
