read the book long ago. Never saw the movie.
I am completely unable to live like that. There is no way. I am completely oppositely wired. I'd be dead in a day. |

The movie was good and the back story to the book is pretty disturbing. The Soviets were actually promoting a plan called 2+2=5 encouraging workers that if they worked hard enough in 4 years they would have a surplus by the fifth year. We already live in a 1984 style world full of polar opposites and fallacies, there are so many that we no longer know what is really true
We spend money to cut the defect tax more to lower taxes feed parasite and tyrants to secure freedoms favor one race to the point of giving them a free pass on bad behavior while punishing another race for events that happened hundreds of years ago and call it equality we castrate and distort masculinity at every chance, lifting women up beyond equality and onto the pedestal of moral, intellectual and physical superiority and call that a war on women We praise parasites encourage hostility against the very people who work to feed them We already live in that world Mr Smith...."if you want a vision of the future Winston imagine.."
