A couple of days ago, I was assaulted by my brother. We were in an ongoing argument, he struck me across the face, so I called the police. They are charging him with domestic assault. He has a couple of priors before, involving domestic abuse against one of his ex-wives, in which it was reported he threatened her with a gun, one for beating his 9 yr old daughter with a belt, so badly she had to be taken to the hospital, as well as a ton that hasnt been reported. He has two other felonies, one involving felonious assault with a firearm on two police officers. The scary thing is the number of "incidents" that he has had, that havent been reported. I called the police after immediately after the incident. They took him to jail. I lost the hearing in my left ear. I saw the doctor yesterday, who said that the timpanic membrane was filled with blood and the eardrum itself was decompressed. She is referring me to a specialist on Thursday for further diagnosis, but in her opinion, and she is not a specialist, there is a good chance there is going to be permanent damage. I woke up this morning with the feeling that my ear was all wet. I sat up in bed and it started running down my face. When I wiped it, there was blood on the tissue. I filed a PPO yesterday, after the doctors visit. I had it served while he was in jail. While I was there, I also submitted the doctors report. The police ran his record and saw all of his priors. My brother has a long history of voilence. In Michigan, 3 domestics is a felony. 3 felonies makes him a habitual offender. The officer that I have been speaking with, said that with his priors, he is probably going to have a high bond, but he MIGHT probably serve a max of 2 yrs. Today one of my brothers friends called looking for him. He said that one of my other brothers friends was going to go down to bail him out, but it turned out they RELEASED HIM WITHOUT BOND. I havent confirmed this yet with the officer that I have been speaking with. I am still waiting for his call back. Is there anything that I can do, to make sure that he gets a longer jail sentence? He is not the type of person you want walking the street. I still cant believe that he is out already and without a bond, but like I said, I havent confirmed that yet. Any advice that you all can give, especially from the LEO's, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! WAS |
