I used to love the Siskel and Ebert show. I think Roger always would give a thumbs up if he got to see nudity in the film, or the lead actress was a total babe.
And Siskel used to kid him about it. Trivia: Oprah once dated Ebert. But mainly to pick his brain about being successful in entertainment. |

I actually swapped emails with him a couple of times a few years ago. I politely took issue with a political opinion he stated in one of his reviews, and he actually answered me. He was polite and funny in his replies as well. Earned some respect in my eye. We disagreed, but we were able to have a civilized discourse. Not the DU herp-derp some would expect. I didn't care for his politics, but he really knew his stuff when it came to movies, and I valued his opinions as a film reviewer. We rarely disagreed as to whether a movie was good or not. |
