I don't have much of a backstory.
Guy walking his dogs in AZ...this dog wanders off, he calls her, and she comes back with a dead raptor hanging by a talon I didn't even think of the dog rolling on an already dead bird, but could be...I pictured an overzealous hawk looking for lunch and choosing poorly..

So you're thinking the bird tried to grab the dog thinking he could take off with it, but the bird couldn't pull the dog around like it thought, so the bird continued to hang on until it died? Even thought the bird is all dried up and stiff with matted down feathers? I predict this will be very uneventful.
