I didn't have a real camera on me, but I feel like the cell phone picture is almost obligatory for dinner pic threads... Roast Duck Breasts with Pomegranate-Chile Sauce, simple salad, and roasted potatoes & parsnip. http://www.westford86.com/AR15/random/duck_dinner.JPG OK now we are talking. Most of these dinner pics are seriously bachelor style. Cooking has become one of my favorite hobbies and that sir is 10/10 on effort. I'd damn sure eat it. But have to deduct points for all the missing accoutrements. No rifle, no blade, etc. |

Looks good! 8/10 No AR. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Roast-Duck-Breasts-with-Pomegranate-Chile-Sauce-356341 I didn't use dried chillies, instead I used five fresh jalapeno peppers. I left them in the sauce just long enough to extract most of the oils out, but pulled them before the reduction was complete. So I skipped the blending part. Cooking the jalapeno in pomegranate juice gives it a little tartness. We took the tender peppers and stuffed them with goat cheese, the flavors complemented each other perfectly; It's a great appetizer... And for all the haters, it's about quality over quantity... Also, I was over at a friends house, so all I had was the carry piece... And yes that's milk! All the hard cider was gone before dinner, and milk is fucking awesome! |

I'm going to overlook some of the missing items and simply address the core issues. -1 for table setting. Cups go on the right, and your silverware is out of control. Your plate should be centered on the placemat. Save that glass for breakfast. Replace with a water goblet and wine glass. -1 for plating. You made an effort here, but you need to wipe the rim of the plate. I would add a salad bowl to showcase the duck and uncrowd the plate. -1 for paper napkin. +1 for appetizing food. 8/10 |
