Just finished spreading 120 tons of chicken manure.
I could use an air freshener. or a bucket of catfish bait to counteract. |
| Are we trying to get as many poop stories in before the lock or what? I've got one. My (wife's) cat just jumped in my lap, and when it got down I noticed a red smear on my pants. Turns out my cat's ass is bleeding for some reason. Not alot mind you, just like a little stain. Cat appears to feel fine. Should I be freaked out or is does this happen? I'm scared to tell the wife cause she will panic and rush it to the vet. |

That's hot stuff--GREAT for nitrogen though, if used/spread carefully so as to not burn. I was using a 7 ton spreader and it did a fine job. I actually put it on a the same rate as the rest of the guys in this area. One of my friends up the road put it down 3 times the rate I used and he says that field is still one of his best. Of course it was free for him; he's a chicken farmer. |

. Urea used to be about the most expensive type of nitrogen fertilizer you could buy. Rising petroleum prices have made everything MUCH higher. ![]() It's been several years now since I worked in the fertilizer business, but anhydrous used to be in the largest demand, followed by "28%". Few customers ordered urea. We did do a certain amount of pelletized chicken manure, but not a whole lot. ETA, this of course was IL and corn is king. |

I used it this time because I wanted to add some organic to the soil. I'll probably repeat this next time too. After that it's "call for the sprayer" for a while. |
