It does look like they've switched to a modern Disney character. The old on looks like a Tex Avery-era MGM cartoon character, from back when cartoons had real character and todays cookie-cutter images.

... although I can see how the large Japanimation eyes might be a little creepy. But overall, I think it looks better and more polished.
