Why shouldn't I move there when I retire?
I lived there a while when I was a kid, and my mother still lives there. Many make fun of it with Deliverance jokes etc...but I thought it was pretty cool when I lived there. CO is going to shit, so don't really wanna stay here, and AK is just too far to visit family. |
|
Quoted:
I have lived in numerous places in NC, OK, and CA.... and always end up back here. I've pretty much lived everywhere...CO and AK are my favorite places. CO might be a lost cause, and AK is just too far away from everything. If I had no family, it would be AK for sure. I do have family, so AR is looking pretty good. I remember learning to dive in lake Ouachita. |

Quoted: I remember learning to dive in lake Ouachita. That's where I spend my summers living. I wake up on the boat, shower, go to work, get off, and go back. I really do love this state. Born in Texas, raised in LA and TN, college in NY, and as an adult, living in AR while visiting pretty much every other state. This is the place I call my home, and the only state I want to be in. |

I know what you mean, I was just kidding. It almost never gets below freezing and it's only cold for like 2 non consecutive weeks per year. |

Fantastic motorcycle roads. Impossible to find booze. Say what? ![]() Was my experience in/around Mena area. Please tell me I'm wrong. I go up there a couple of times a year. After the first time we always carry our stuff in. Cruise through Ft. Smith or Fayetteville next time, and you shouldn't have any problems. |

A grammar Nazi from AR! That's what I'm talking about! |
| I've always enjoyed my visits to western Arkansa. If I were to move to there I would be heading for the northwest corner just to stay away from the humidity of the southern part of the state. The area around Beaver Lake up to the MO state line looks very promising. |

That being said, on your way to mena, stop at the top of rye hill( just west of Greenwood), it's the last liqueur store till you get to Paris. |
