| Documentary about the .gov interference and attack of small farmers, admittedly based on pressure from BigAg lobbysits. Damn ridiculous! |

There is no conspiracy to get rid of small farmers.
Like any business, everyone is getting bigger. I see people constantly complain about not being able to support themselves on 1000 acres of farmground or a 150 cow dairy. Well guess why? That's isn't a fuckin job, it's a hobby on that small of a scale. In business if you aren't growing you're shrinking away to nothing. In ag and the dairy business all my life. edit - There is no reason a family farm can't do well, it's just like anything. Some of them aren't good at business so they remain stagnant. Other guys borrow more money, take risks, and keep growing. Just because your dad made a living farming 1000 acres, doesn't mean you're entitled to be able to do the same like some sort of welfare program. |
| This had nothing to do with the business aspect, this was armed fed officers showing up and confiscating entire herds of animals as "dangerous", later admitting they had no proof that the animals actually were dangerous, only after destroying the animals and lying about the results of the tests they performed before destroying the animals. Then come back and take the farmer's equipment and destroy it "because they fought back" |

Then come back and take the farmer's equipment and destroy it "because they fought back" I would imagine there was more to the story. The gov. doesn't just confiscate herds for no reason and then destroy property because they don't like you. It would have made every ag journal in the country. Not saying the gov. is good bc they are a bunch of idiots but farming is one of the most subsidized industries in the country. The gov. rains money onto these farmers, they aren't out to get them. The average farmer in my area gets atleast 100k a year in gov. handouts. Edit - it could be true, i just haven't seen a conspiracy theory "documentary" yet that was all true, i'm very skeptical. |

Agreed, there's always two sides to everything. But I know a lot of the stuff that was talked about as far as the regulation and nanny state mentality is pretty accurate |
