My wife's 2006 Trailblazer has the defective fuel tank sending unit problem. Is this the part I need to replace? Or do I have to get a entire new in-tank fuel tank/fuel pump Module Kit? I may replace the pump also why I have the tank down, but it doesn't even have 100k on it yet, and with my luck the new pump will take a shit in 6 months with a full tank.

There is a recall / bulletin for that.

Yes, that should do the trick.

Fair warning though...I have pulled the tank modules and have the new level sending unit not match the factory unit. Either the replacement level unit was for a newer designed module assy, or was for a aftermarket one....either way, I had to replace the whole pump/unit module to repair it.

Just get a new pump, as it is a GM vehicle, you can just consider this preventative maintenance.

There is a bulletin where they offered to reimburse you 50% to have the dealer fix it, but it has since expired (that is what the dealer told me).

Didn't they have 2 different capacity tanks available?  Perhaps the sender was for the other tank.
