The GOP lacks the intellectual discipline to construct a coherent ideological framework. They can say that they support lower taxes, lower social spending, and preserving traditional social institutions, but they are incapable of linking them all together and explaining why these things matter. The Democrats are a strange mix of Peronist-style nationalist economic interventionism and deconstructionist social policies. |
