This is not a 9x19mm vs .45acp thread, and I'm not here to tell people what they should be using for HD or EDC.
I'm trying to get a better understanding of how different bullets behave when they impact a target. There seems to be more at work here than m*v, or even bullet type. Looking at different gel tests, I've noticed that some loads leave a linear channel through the media, and others have a more dramatic energy dump. Of those that have that energy dump, some loads do so almost immediately after impact, whereas others travel several inches. Educate me.
