People who watch the speech on a cable network will see Giffords on their TV sets before the speech begins. Her PAC, Americans for Responsible Solutions, is spending six figures to run an ad featuring the former congresswoman insisting that “Congress must act” to reduce gun violence. It will air right before and again after the president’s address.
Uphill battle in Congress Dozens of gun violence victims will stay in Washington on Wednesday, when they'll lobby their own members of Congress to back new gun control laws. And they’ll also be cutting ads for the Mayors Against Illegal Guns group. Those spots, largely bankrolled by Bloomberg's vast personal fortune, will then run in key congressional districts. The rabble will be rousing. |

I got an advance copy of his speech
My fellow Americans, uhh, tonight I uhh address you with a warm and uhh open heart. These past four years have been difficult and uhh challenging for many Americans. We need to hold on uhh our resolve and uhh continue to work through the uhh problems we inherited from the previous administration. Let me be clear uhh I plan to uhh ask Congress for uhh more money and more spending and uhh help everyone in need. I will uhh create more jobs through uhh fiscal responsibility with this game changing legislation. I also plan to uhh ask for comprehensive reforms on uhh gun control and uhh make sure the tragedy in uhh Newtown never happens again. Uhh, I met someone from uhh one of the families of this uhh terrible tragedy and his story is (blah blah blah for 5 minutes). That why uhh I am going to ask for uhh a new assault weapon ban. I’ve killed Bin Laden and umm brought Pakistan back from the the uhh brink of war with my uhh unprecented leadership and can uhh lead this as well. Uhh I know together uhh, we can make a difference and uhh I wish you all a uhh pleasant evening. |

| Should be a real dog and pony show. The networks are already talking about all the "victims of gun violence" that he's trotting out. Should be funny to see Ted Nugent's facial expressions (if they show any). Seriously this thing is shaping up to be a circus with his liberal agendas in all 3 rings. He should have some vendors walking the aisles selling hot dogs. |
