This might not be the kind of thing you want to discuss out in the open...

Notwithstanding that, however, I think you might find that your mother's notion of "commit" and the commit that you are concerned about may vary in significant ways, i. e., did you just get stuck into a private hospital that you believed you couldn't leave because of the inexperience of your age?

Other factors might come into play, but I really don't feel comfortable discussing them because I'm not an expert on this particular subject matter.

Three days isn't a commitment. Commitment is a lengthy process involving a judge, testimony from at least one psychiatrist, and an advocate for the person who is to be committed. A parent can take his child to the hospital for an evaluation, but it is not the same thing as civil commitment.
