| I never had one (I was a SAW gunner), but a lot of my buddies in the Army did. I always thought they were pretty cool. Why is the consensus on ARFCOM that they were retarded? |
|
Is that LAPD, or Oxford PD? Trying to read the dude on the right's vest. |
| I think the T Pod: http://www.themakogroup.com/category_s/44.htm is an improvement on the design, if you are looking at them. |
| im a big fan of mine and would recommend one any day. they look stupid and their longer then your average vert grip but its a bipod and a grip so its a double whammy.. i love the fact you can set the gun down with out having to lay the gun on its side... i have no idea why people dislike them but to each is own, i love mine.. |

| I have one, but do not keep it mounted. It is very good for prone shooting on the ground, but does not work well on a shooting bench or other hard surface. It slides around and is unstable, as bipods go. It is huge, but very comfortable as a for grip. Far from the best bipod out there, but far better than nothing. |

They are awesome for setting your rifle down in the chow hall. Hell yes they are. Or on a truck hood while you drink coffee. |

Real world use case: Army, Live fire training scenario.
Used a grip pod that I got from supply to run about a 2KM dismounted live fire course. Was issued because I was the SDM and they reasoned I needed a stable shooting platform. The grip is physically too short (around 9" when deployed iirc) to fire on level ground or downhill slopes in the prone with an IBA on. Works a little better if firing at an uphill angle. Get one if you like it but understand that the limitations are great and are a deal breaker for me. Shortly after, I switched out the gay-pod for a Harris 9-13" with a pic rail adapter that I had sent over by family and I had reason to use it. Best decision I made that deployment... |

| One of my friends has one. I think they are great. This is the one I got but I wish I got the one that swivels. http://www.themakogroup.com/product_p/t-podg2qr.htm3 |

I think they look so tacky... You think correctly. They are stupid looking as fuck. They sorta work as a bipod. I last used one to sight a rifle in at a bench & I had no rest or bag. I do still have one though, but it has been in a pocket of a rifle case for at least 5 years now. |
