Love them.  But only when they're fresh.  If the shell doesn't pop, then they're crap.

Taste horrible and smell worse.  I have a SGT in my office who went home on leave and brought some back from Georgia.  Now he has all the other NCOs in the office eating canned ones.

Love them.  Friend of mine brought me some up in the early 90s, then could not find locally.  Went on a trip to Charlotte, NC and went into the local supermarket and asked the guys in the stockroom for a case.  Looked at me like I was crazy, as did the cashier trying to ring up a case.

Tried it for the first and last time while on TAD at Ft. Stewart.

Love me some fresh boiled peanuts.  There are road side stands that sell them every weekend near my house.  One of the great southern
snack foods.

Effing nasty.  Is this a southern thing?  My wife is from LA, and loves boiled peanuts.  Along with "sucking the heads" of boiled crayfish.  Fucking disgusting.

And yes, I will ignore all jokes / photo requests.

They are addicting as hell.

I love to make them myself using crab/shrimp boil in the pot with salt added of course.

Used to get them in south Carolina when I was a little one visiting my grandparents.  They boiled them green, in super salty brine,  until they swelled and the shell became soft.  Some of the best taste memories of my early childhood.
Delicious.

Between grits and boiled peanuts, we Southern boys got a few good things that keep the Yankees confounded.

I make 'em at home with salt, garlic, and Crystal hot sauce.

I just had them for the first time, but I just ate the whole damn can.

Will there be consequences?

Love them, fond memories of time spent with my grandfather at his furniture store. A guy would come around selling boiled peanuts in paper bags and we would sit outside and eat them. It is a Southern thing. This was Southern LA in the summer ... Freaking hot I tell ya.
