I'm looking for a new PC headset. Can you recommend something that doesn't fucking suck?

Staples store-brand: Started sending electronic jolts to the side of my head after two weeks. I didn't even know there was significant power in an audio (data) line, but somehow this thing managed to zap me about every five minutes.

Logitech: After owning it for a week, the cable ripped in half. I wasn't pulling on it or anything, just sitting at my computer watching netflix, and the cable came apart.

Plantronics cheapo: Is too damn quiet on the microphone. I've been able to boost it +20db in software, and it still sounds quiet.

Plantronics gaming headset: Broke in half when I went to take it off a few minutes ago.

I'm running a Logitech wireless and I'm happy with it.  Although it may be a bit overkill for watching Netflix.

You must be really rough on your headsets.

I have had the same Plantronics Audio 90 headset for years with no issues.  Unfortunately it's discontinued.

Of course, you understand the highlighted portion is physically impossible, right? This reminds me of every  time I get a call where something on a computer is fucked and the answer to "what were you doing when it broke?" is, invariably, "nothing!"

+1

The Tiamat is worth the coin. Most of the Razer hardware offerings are, in fact.

The Logitech G930 is a fantastic headset. It's wireless, and has a great range. I know people who can walk down stairs and still have no issues with sound or mic. Comfortable and quality sound too. Comes with a warranty of 2 years also, if that makes you feel any better. Priced around $100-$115 online.

I can walk anywhere in my house and lose coverage only in the far corners.

I wish it was impossible, but those broke just like I described. Things were only a week old, and damn comfy.

I've got a 4+ year old plantronics on my phone at work that's fine, and a 4+ year old plantronics wireless (USB) at home. Both work great (except the wireless battery life is down to 40 minutes).

I bought a Plantronics Gamecon less than a year ago and was expecting similar durability. I was happy with it until a few hours ago when it broke in half.

How did the ones you got as warranty replacements last?

Given that I've never had a positive experience with a warranty repair or replacement, I've decided to simply not waste my time trying.
