I'm looking for a new PC headset. Can you recommend something that doesn't fucking suck?
Staples store-brand: Started sending electronic jolts to the side of my head after two weeks. I didn't even know there was significant power in an audio (data) line, but somehow this thing managed to zap me about every five minutes. Logitech: After owning it for a week, the cable ripped in half. I wasn't pulling on it or anything, just sitting at my computer watching netflix, and the cable came apart. Plantronics cheapo: Is too damn quiet on the microphone. I've been able to boost it +20db in software, and it still sounds quiet. Plantronics gaming headset: Broke in half when I went to take it off a few minutes ago. |

This reminds me of every time I get a call where something on a computer is fucked and the answer to "what were you doing when it broke?" is, invariably, "nothing!" |

The Logitech G930 is a fantastic headset. It's wireless, and has a great range. I know people who can walk down stairs and still have no issues with sound or mic. Comfortable and quality sound too. Comes with a warranty of 2 years also, if that makes you feel any better. Priced around $100-$115 online. |

I wish it was impossible, but those broke just like I described. Things were only a week old, and damn comfy. |

You must be really rough on your headsets. I have had the same Plantronics Audio 90 headset for years with no issues. Unfortunately it's discontinued. I've got a 4+ year old plantronics on my phone at work that's fine, and a 4+ year old plantronics wireless (USB) at home. Both work great (except the wireless battery life is down to 40 minutes). I bought a Plantronics Gamecon less than a year ago and was expecting similar durability. I was happy with it until a few hours ago when it broke in half. |

Given that I've never had a positive experience with a warranty repair or replacement, I've decided to simply not waste my time trying. |
