I have a friend that owns a house with a security system that has been unhooked for years. It was installed by a company that has been long out of business. I put a new 12 aH battery in and connected the power supply. The key pad comes up, and it will go ready to arm. I bought and programmed my last system,btw. Nobody knows any password. There is no install paperwork, or passwords. Older Ademco panel. Is there a master password I can try? Any ideas to try? All security companies here want big bucks to come "fix it". All I need is master code or installation P/W to put in a user code.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Most companies change the installer and master codes. try a search for default codes, but most likely a new board will be needed.

Some can be defaulted, some can't.
Does it have a full English LCD keypad or just the cheap one?

That is not the panel type, it will say Vista 110 etc.... The good news is it's not a really old panel like a 4180 where you need a chip that is no longer made.

Will try to get more info, but I feel that the company that installed, locked it out with a code so you have to call then.

Lockout codes serve 2 purposes;

1. It keeps other companies from tampering with your accounts.
2. It keep the homeowner from accidentally deleting something & rendering the alarm non-functional (& protects the installer from getting sued if the homeowner gets robbed).

Some Ademco panels can have the lockout code defaulted, some cannot.
Panels are cheap & come with a programming book - it might be easier for you to replace it & start over.
