I know this is quite a subjective question, as there are many variables. However, I have never sold anything at a gun show, and want to see realistically what I should expect. I have a completely new Carbon-15 upper(like the linked one below minus the front sight), that I want to sell at an upcoming large gun show(Crossroads), and want to see where I should start my asking price, ballpark. I upgraded the upper with a metal one, so I figure on selling the carbon upper.  thanks in advance!

Carbon 15 upper

Edit : I am not including the BCG/CH.

I'd look around and see what other ARs are selling for at the show.

Price accordingly.

I always walk around wearing a sign, but these days just holding the rifle will get you a lot of attention from potential buyers.

yeah that what I was thinking too. make a flag for it, but don't put the price on it till I see what I see at the show.

Everything is simmering down right now so you might not get as much. I would make a sign thats asking 1000. People will talk you down, but its really up to what you value it at. Personally, I wouldn't pay 1000 for it but I have sold a lot of stuff for more than I would personally pay.

I also worry that someone will give me well made counterfeit money. Especially with the market nowadays. Prevention? Just have one of those pens handy, and look for the strip, different colors etc?

Definitely start high. You would be surprised what some people will pay. Make sure you know what you bottom line is. 1000 might scare some people away, so maybe start with 950, and then work from there. Also, look on gunbroker.com and see what upper/complete uppers are going for. Like others said check out all the prices at the gun show and adjust from there.

I'd try to get more than $1000!

Post on Armslist for $1400
