If you have to ask GD for help in a situation you walked yourself into, then you've failed. Yep. Knife to a fun fight analogy comes to mind. If you are going to start an argument with a lib....understand all of the lib talking points and be able to refute them with evidence. Or, if you are like me and have better shit to do, don't have a Facebook account. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

| Should have gone with District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia. So the the SUPREME COURT says I am in fact a militia. They also defined/equated well regulated to mean "well behaved" AKA law abiding citizen! SO I am a "well regulated militia" |

any time someone brings up that they are not coming to take them away I go with that's what a ban is….If there is something I could go to a store and buy but now I can't that is the same as talking them away. You took away my ability to buy it….. That usually shuts them up on that. In his case I would have asked him how he thinks limiting mag size would make any difference. And point out the millions and millions of 30 round AR mags out there. Not to mention how many pistol mags over 10. I couldn't even begin to guess….

I posted the Henson Ong vid on FB and got a reply from a guy I keep an eye on. I guess he was trying to be a smartass with his first reply, so I went all Kenny Powers on him. My issue is he asked a pretty good question. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b191/fugitivemind1990/Capture-5_zpsac634328.png Is it officers appointed by the states to muster the militia, or is it more like "Whoever has the best leadership skills is in charge"? The sole fact that they set regulation guidelines is what makes the militia well regulated. The militia is regulated by the very text that says it exists. |

The federal government regulates a militia (as opposed to "the" militia, which is a subtle but important distinction). That's why "the people" shall not have their rights infringed. The amendment prohibits a government monopoly on military force.
The people are distinct from "a ... militia". |
