Hi,i am going nuts with something, there was a tv show back in the 1980s a detective type show and one of the things i remember was that the detective finaly captures the criminal and the two get in to a airplane but it crashes and they all "kick the bucket" and this was the end of it in the last episode,it was probably in the early 1980s ( 84 or 85?) and this because i cant get  the theme song out of my head.

Can some help,thank you.

PS:It was not Columbo;Miami Vice or magnum pi,is was a U.S. tv series mostly about drug traffic,i think.

Hill Street Blues
Hunter
Moonlighting
Cagney & Lacey
Remington Steele

Finally, this is the one "Crime Story"

...i think the song was "Runaway" by Del Shannon.

"The final shot is an explosion of waves caused by the plane's impact, with the fate of the cops and criminals unknown."

Dennis Farina was a Chicago cop for 18-years before becoming an actor.

Perhaps that is where he learned this technique:

"I'm not askin' ya, I'm tellin' ya"

I liked his character in "Law & Order"...
