I posted this on AR discussion but wanted to post here too cuz of the traffic. Hope thats ok. IF not mods you can delete.

Ive read up on threads of this. Basically remove my pinned muzzle break and install a flash hider. I know about adco and all that. But i wanted to see if this
is something i could do. I have a drill press at the shop. Here are some pics. Things that caught my eye:

1. The pin is not welded and it does not go through to the other side of the break.
2. I looked inside with a flash light and saw that the pin does not go through the thread of the barrel. ( ie. i could not see the pin or holes from inside the thread of the barrel.)
3. The pin is at 6 oclock

What do you guys think. I was thinking of just drilling out the the pin which i think is probably only an 1/8 or 1/16 long. Then i assume the muzzle could just be screwed off the barrel?
I live in NM so i dont need to pin the flash hider. I bought the gun like this a while back. if i should succeed should the flash hider just screw on securely? What keeps it from screwing back out? Thanks guys!!!
