this is a email i got from the Wisconsin Concealed Carry Association .. please take a min to read and think about it. mabey a mod can tack it for a few days. thanks tattoo With the summer just about over and election season upon us, it's time to start manning tables at the gun shows again. This year is going to be pivotal for gun owners. If we can get a two seat change in the state senate, and McCallum re-elected, we're pretty much assured that concealed carry will pass next year. If, however, Jim Doyle, Tom Barrett or Kathleen Falk is elected, we can forget about concealed carry. And, if we get one of those three as governor and the senate remains in Chuck Chvala's hands, gun owners will have a lot more to worry about than just concealed carry. There's never been a period in our state's history where gun rights have hung so precipitously in the balance. Hopefully, many of you will step forward and help with our efforts at the gun shows. It's easy work, really, and when you're done with your shift you can wander the show for free. For those of you who haven't worked a show before, the job entails handing literature to those passing by, urging them to put their names and email addresses on our alert sign-up sheets, and occasionally selling a T-shirt or two. There's a donation jar as well for our political action committee. The shifts are four hours (three hours on Sundays). You can do Friday night from 5pm until 9pm, Saturday from 9am to 1pm, Saturday from 1pm to 5pm, Sunday from 9am to noon, or Sunday from noon until 3pm. Ideally, it's best to have two people on a shift, especially on Saturdays. Our first show will be right after the primary election: Friday through Sunday, September 13, 14 and 15, at the Oshkosh county fairgrounds. The next show will be September 27, 28 and 29th at the Waukesha Expo Center. Please consider donating just four hours of your time to help gun owners preserve their rights here in Wisconsin. If you'd like to work a shift, reply to this email indicating which day and which shift you'd like to do. | I sent Dick an email a couple days ago volunteering for the next Madison gun show. I can't go to Waukesha or Oshkosh because of tight finances this semester (wife and I are both still in school). But if someone is already driving from the Madison area to the Waukesha show and wouldn't mind having me tag along, I'll volunteer for that show as well. |

This is Dick's latest emailing. I can't make it, I'll probably be at the same IDPA match that he's talking about if I can drum up the money. Hi, all. After the last emailing, there were enough replies that the Waukesha show is already well-staffed. There's a hole in the schedule for the Oshkosh show, though. Frank has volunteered to do the Friday evening shift and, if necessary, the Saturday am shift. However, if he and his friend do the Saturday am shift, they'll miss out on an IDPA match that's been in the works for a long time. So, please, if anyone can do 9am until noon on Saturday (always the best shift in terms of distributing literature and getting donations) please let me know. Working more than one shift on a weekend can be a real drag. For some reason, the Oshkosh shows have always been difficult to get staffed. Don't know why. Thanks, Dick |

Yeah, that'll happen, if Ed decides to go against everything he believes in. I think Ed may actually have a chance. If I still believe that on election day, he's got my vote. If not, I'll (reluctantly) vote for McCallum. |

Ed Thompson has about as much of a chance getting elected as all the garbage in wisconsin landfills suddenly turning into pure gold. Ain't gonna happen. All he's going to do is pull a ralph nader in florida move, and get the democrat candidate elected. Unless a libertarian candidate is also a celebrity, the party isn't mature enough to take a statewide office here. Just being a realistic libertarian. |
