It was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid, Too bad he was so extremly anti-gun.. Was this show just created by raving liberals determined to brainwash everyone into thinking guns are bad. OR is that just the way they wrote it so that MacGyver would have to make stuff out of things to kill the bad guys, because he didnt use a gun? Just think how cool that show would have been if he would have used a bunch of bad-ass guns. |

My Uncle got to play a bad guy on one ep, they had MP5s..... he was ERT with the Vancouver City PD, they grabbed a couple of them, wanted the Badguys to actually look like they knew how to handle weapons..... Was kinda interesting, and he got a motorcycle out of it [:D] |

They should have called the show MacGayver. When I was in 5th grade, I thought it was cool; I never knew you could make land mines out of pinesap and popcorn. But beyond the age of 13 or so, you begin to see how ridiculous it is and how impossible half the shit he improvises would be. But if you can't get enough, they're making MacGyver: the motion picture. I swear to god. http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=13093 |

Sigh... I was one of those who liked to watch it just to see what kind of fake physics and chemistry some idiot in hollywood would make up. Then it was fun watching the morons who actually believed some of his crap would actually work. If he were a real 'operative'. He'd of died a long, long time ago. Mac is a dick. He is anti-gun and anti-common sense. Only a Hollywood brain could come up with such anti-American crapola and sell it in the form of a TV series. sigh...... Ban him, burn him, let him rot. I don't care which. +Stealth |

Quoted: ....you build your own nonlethal weapons. [:D] That was just what I was going to ask. How many of his bombs actually killed anyone? Kinda' like the A-team and their miserable marksmanship skills. [;)] I've only caught bits and pieces through the years but I was under the assumption no one died in this show either. |
|
Quoted: I liked it when he welded the broken piston rod with the penny, jumper cables and battery. Kill yo TV! I was going to comment on that exact thing! To anybody with ANY knowledge of welding, there are too many things wrong with this example of BS to list. Refined, virgin crapola. |

some of his ideas where plausible. there was one scene where a baddies AK was standing against a jeep. he was on a hill hiding in some bushed. used a roundbowl headlight and its reflector to catch and concetrate the sun (yea sure) and then hit the gun with it a cause the round to superheat and go off. yes thats possible. not from that distance or in that short of a time. but it can be done. --edit-- another that comes to mind was some ep with a FRQ generator hooked up to a amp and a speaker to disable the baddies. wrong frq (cuz it didnt disable the viewer.. but i dont think the networks would like someone knocking out the viewers..) possible? yes. knocking them out? ehh unlikley. more likley to bring them to their knees and wallow in pain at the assult on their ears. the BS is no diff than Casey Ryback's exploding microwave in Under Seige 1. it exploded when it stopped.. not when it started.. |

I remember when Mac knocked out one of the bad guys. Then took his .38 revolver and broke the cylinder off. He used the frame of the gun as a wrench to turn on a fire hydrant[rolleyes] I watched every episode of that show back when I was in school. I thought it was cool then, but not now. Its on in reruns now. I forget which station. |
| How about the time a couple of badguys were after Mac and Mac only had a fishing rod with a 1 oz lead sinker on the end. He hid and waited till the badguys started walking around looking for him, then when they were about 25 feet away with thier backs turned to him,he made a cast with the fishing rod hitting the badguys in the back of the head with the aformentioned 1 oz lead sinker knocking them out cold. Thats some funny shit [whacko] |

Richard Dean Anderson is rediculously anti-gun (in fact I think he's associated with the Brady Bunch) but his character on Stargate is totally the opposite. He's the first to reach for a gun in any situation, FN P90, MP5, SPAS-12, M249 SAW, you name it. There's even a popular alien energy weapon they have that is nolethal in the first shot butlethal with a second: he always does double taps. Of course in the situation he and his team members are in, it's only logical. Obviously when it comes to the principles of liberals money talks and principles quickly go out the window. Any time you hear him whine about guns feel free to post footage of him going nuts with a P90 or M249 SAW. |

Meg Ryan is another hypocritical wench. She got paid millions for doing "Courage Under Fire" and then right away was on Letterman bitching about what a stupid movie it was, with all kind of guns & shooting. Haven't paid to see her in anything so far, and doubt if I will. She doesn't seem to be that good at her job, anyway. |

I loved the show for the first two seasons or so. Then I saw one (in reruns) that dealt with guns and gans. Never watched again. I never really minded his hating guns. It doesn't bother me when people hate guns. That's THEIR problem. Where I get pissed is when THEY tell ME that I can't have one... |

I still watch it on the satellite. Its a decent enough show (so unbelievable its funny) but I always roll my eyes about the gun stuff and when they do environmental episodes... I was curious though, had he changed his stance? Or is he as anti-gun as ever?...His character on Stargate is a total 180... |
