Do you really care?

$1,000,000.00 players on average fighting billionaire owners looking at the 9th strike in 20 to 25 years? I gave up on them back in the 70's and only catch a game now by accident. Stopped watching the NBA after thier last strike, used to not miss a single game of my team.

I do love baseball and last night went to a local professional A game last night. The team is in first place, the box seats a handful of rows above 3rd base were $7, parking $3, beers were a $1, footlong hotdogs and large natchos were $2. I paid for everything out of my wallet.

Going to an Angeles or Dodgers game is roughy three times as expensive and just a bit more exciting. You can't get seats at field level because they're sold out to season ticket holders for thousands and thousands of dollars a season - sorry, not my pay grade. A beer costs $3.50. To eat there figure about $10 a person.

At last night's game we had a good time and hardly broke a $20 bill. We won three sandwiches from In and Out Burger went "our" player hit a double winning us double doubles. I caught a free buffet at a local casino too so we ended up with four meals in total.

The best part was we were in the game, up close and could see details, facial expressions, hear the crack of the bat and the thump of the catcher's mitt. You don't get that at the circus that is an MLB game, it's gone for the common man.

To hell with MLB, check out your local pro players, you might be entertained.

Can't stand em Paul. Little League parks are full of good times watching kids out there play for the sake of the game.

Hey, at least all those poor guys walking up and down the aisles (some are pretty steep) working their asses off to sell beer and peanuts for $5.50 an hour still have jobs.  Not that that really mattered to any of the multi-millionaire (but not multi- enough) players.

Just make sure you get them before the 7th inning stretch when the shut down the beer sales.

Are you a Marlins fan? I used to be up until the year after they won the Series and had their closeout sale. Fuck the Marlins. They're now beating the Expos for the lowest game attendance. It's all about money these days. BAH! I'd rather watch College and Little League teams play.

I'm with Paul.  Here in Indianapolis, we have one of the best minor league teams (Indianaplolis Indians) in the country, and THE BEST minor league ballpark, bar none.  It's less of a hassle to get tickets (and you can even sit in the lawn) and attend.  Going to a MLB game is nothing but a PTA, and deep down you really resent the players.
