Good album as well. |

Quoted: I sat 3 rows from the stage on the last tour.Agreed. It's hard to imagine sitting through "The Social Network" without the awesome score he worked on. I saw the Lights In The Sky tour and seeing the band perform live was just amazing. http://i46.tinypic.com/2lseewy.jpg It was EPIC. |
|
For some reason I never paid much attention to HTDA. I think I need to now ! |
|
Didn't know he had a wife in the music biz, she is cute too. |
|
I find the album Year Zero almost fitting to today's issues.
I'VE GOT SURVIVALISM. NIN FTW. Pretty much everything Reznor has produced... is incredible. His style has definitely matured over the years too. I myself have been digging The Social Network soundtrack lately. |
|
Quoted: The Lights in the Sky tour was one of my favorite concerts I've been to. Longtime fan here, still rock my 'Closer' t-shirt every once in a while. The only "band" (NIN was Trent Reznor and the live band varied in makeup) I've ever actually really liked and I regret never seeing them in concert. |
|
Also my favorite track. Seen him live 3 times. |

Trent Reznor's music really stands the test of time. |
|
Quoted: Trent Reznor is the Bob Dylan of my generation. There's plenty of great stuff after Downward Spiral, just as much introspection and emotion as the early stuff. In some cases like the "Still" album, even moreso. I agree its mind blowingly great work, just I lean a little more to the harder, and intense. |

AW HELL YEAH.
Blood hardens in the sand Cold metal in my hand Hope you understand the way that things are gonna be There's nowhere left to hide 'Cause God is on our side I keep telling myself Year Zero is the best album IMO. Not necessarily musically, but the whole concept behind it and the way it depicted the future. Here's a good interview with Trent where he describes how he came up with it and shit like that. Now I'm gonna go and watch every interview I can find. I thought the slip was pretty good, and ghosts, and pretty much every album is awesome. The only song that makes me go wtf is the perfect drug, but only because when they played it at the club no one danced to it except me and I looked like I was having a seizure. I'm really hoping he puts out some new material as NIN, 'cause frankly How to Destroy Angel's started off great, but the EP kinda sucks. It grew on me a bit, but it isn't NIN. Haven't listened to it more than twice. Trent is my role model. I would suck his dick. Lulz.. How do we dance to this?
NIN on Dance Party USA (Note: Skrilllex obviously saw this at some point in his youth. |

Man I had tickets to a show during the with teeth tour and I didn't go cuz I had no one to take go with and I was antisocial and never had gone to a concert before. Definitely regretting it. I should've just gone. Stupid fuck. STUPID FUCKING FUCK. Is there any worse feeling than having tickets and not going to a show. I did that with Mastadon a few years ago. |
|
When Downward Spiral came out, I wasn't able to buy because of the EXPLICIT LYRICS warning. My sister got it for me and my mother proceeded to shit bricks. She did let me keep it though.
I remember when that same sister came home with the brand new "Appetite For Destruction" on cassette. I was lucky to have such positive influences in my life. |

Just before we deployed to Desert Shield we were cruising down to Austin from Ft Hood, My GF at the time pops in this cassette, "Ring finger" comes on, I listen for a while and comment on how hard INXS had gotten .. |

My best friend got me hooked on them back in middle school. We went to the Fragility 2.0 tour when they came to Philly with A Perfect Circle. I got a T-shirt that said "Where the Fuck were you?" on the back and listed the cities for the tour. I wore it to school and got suspended for not turning it inside out. The second concert of theirs I went to was at a lot smaller venue (Electric Factory in Philly) for their Live: With Teeth tour. We were approx 2 rows from the front and ended up catching Reznor when he jumped off stage. NIN is amazing live. |

Reznor did some great stuff with Peter Murphy (Bauhaus frontman). I didn't know and I'm glad you posted that. Two of the musicians from that show are now in TV ON THE RADIO wich is definately a group worth checking out, |
|
Quoted: The only thing I like more than his music is his "story"... janitor working on his stuff at night who becomes a rock icon. On top of beating alcohol and heroin abuse! In a country where substance abuse, wild parties, and generally stars being propped up for being self destructive if not idolized, it's cool to see a guy that can get big, be loved, yet not be in every headline and tabloid. Dude just cranks out amazing music, and does his thing. |
