I have a gas heater in my house that is having problems it has this controller
http://www.air1supply.com/10125-Replacement-Nordyne-Furnace-Control-Board-Kit-903106_p_210.html
that was installed as a replacement 5 yrs ago. Problem is when the thermostat kicks on the purge fan starts then the gas comes on and ignites then the blower starts and the furnace runs for around a min or so then it shuts off. It then starts the cycle again and stays on till the thermostat cuts it off as it should do. I was wondering if this could be the controller or if I need to test any of the sensors and which one, there is one led indicators on the controller. This is an intermittent problem and does not happen every time the furnace kicks on.

I think it's possible that flame sensor could be shitted up. Maybe the DIY section may help more than GD.

Yep.

Clean the flame sensor with steel wool.   It looks like a small steel rod mounted in the heat exchanger/burner area.   If it still doesn't work try replacing it.  The flame sensor lets the controller board know the flames are lit if its not working the furnace will cycle off after about a minute as it thinks the gas is unlit and leaking out.

+1 on the above advice. I'm an hvac/r tech by trade.

Start out by cleaning the flame sensor. That sounds like your most likely culprit with the information you've given. And while you're down there, check the filter and replace it if it's dirty.
