I spent some time today cleaning up the "gun area" and reorganizing my ammo fort.
I am currently sitting on +/- 15,000 rounds of various ammo, mostly 5.56 and .22 LR, with some copious amounts of .45 ACP, 9mm, 7.62X54R, 7.5X55 Swiss, and .303 British in the mix. I consider myself an "average" gun owner, and have been thinking; with what I know I have on hand and with what I have seen on both ends of the "extreme" (guys who think that 15K rounds is weak, or a guy with 500 or so rounds for his hunting guns) I think that if Sen. Feinstein and the rest of the Antis actually knew what was actually "out there" they might have a heart attack... What does every one else think...? |

I've often wondered just how big of a deal the media would make of my ammo fort if ever an opportunity was presented. I don't exactly plan to have CNN helicopters shooting footage from above my house, but I can just picture the stereotypical photo of everything set up on 4x8 tables...
...Man had tens of thousands of bullets loaded into fully automatic high capacity clips. At least one machine gun and several assault pistols were found along with boxes of parts that could be used to manufacture military grade assault rifles. The man claimed to be a patriot, conservative who simply subscribed to the constitution and enjoyed a hobby that included exercising his 2nd amendment rights. The police are investigating links to an extremist Internet-based militia with tens of thousands of members throughout the world. A source informs us that this online militia promotes overthrowing the government and may even include active members of the US military...possibly using government issued weapons.' Of course, then I saw the pictures that our favorite veteran of the cola wars posted and realized how insignificant my collection was after all
