| How long do you think it will be before we see ammo availability & pricing come back down to earth? Specifically .223/5.56. I wasn't around during the last "panic", and I have no idea if I should overpay now or wait it out. Any feedback would be much appreciated. |

id say atleast a full 9 months til pricing comes back down to near pre-panic levels. ammo is way up right now, and with the tons of backorders wont come down anytime soon. just keep a look out for deals that pop up. and jump on a $350-400 1000 round decent brass case.
Or you could buy from cheaper than dirt's $1000 for 1000 round M855 case and give them a head start on their ferrari financing

About a year, I'd say. Depends on how much traction Feinstein's bill gets in the Senate. It won't go anywhere in the House, but people will still freak out if the Senate passes a version of it, thus keeping prices high until it becomes obvious to everyone the bill is dead. |

Maybe a follow up question......... How did ammo prices react during the last ban? Did they go up, down, or stay the same post ban? I only ask because logically, you would think that prices would go down during a ban because demand would be lower (less guns moving into circulation = less overall demand). Personally, I don't think we're going to see another AWB anway, but that's another discussion I suppose.
Anyway...... I guess this whole ammo thing just makes me scratch my head. I can understand (kind of ) the run on magazines, because I think there's a legit chance we'll soon see restrictions on "high capacity" mags. So naturally, the instinct is to get 'em while you can. But the ammo situation doesn't add up. It's not like ammo is going away. Am I missing something?

private sales will drop in price at about the time retailers like Wallyworld start going up...that's when you'll have sub-$500 AR's FTF..
panic will be short-lived due to antis biting off more than they can chew. the feinstein and similar bills are just full retard and what people are seeing now is just a media circlejerk economic news will overshadow all this crap at about tax time i give it two months then a buyer's paradise |

Prices for pre-ban rifles skyrocketed before the ban and stayed high throughout the ban, prices for factory hi-cap mags for pistols (especially Glocks) were mind-boggling, and prices of most semi-autos (even the Mini-14) were elevated for a while. Once the manufacturers starting churning out post-ban ARs things got more sensible. Oddly enough, AR mags never got too bad because the law allowed for importation of mags. The market was flooded with milsurp M-16 mags before the ban was a year old, so they never got outrageous. |

It's almost as if the MSM knows the bill isn't going anywhere and so they're off on their next crusade. |

You're preachin' to the choir brother- and I hope you are correct, but I have lost faith right now. I have a hard time thinkin' this situation is going anywhere but a spin straight down. SCOTUS trumps "federal judge" and they are already left leaning as proven by "Obamacare"- and worse to come after Zero's assumed appointments in the future.

Some good news would be really cool right about now. Keep your head up! Trust me, I'm usually a glass half empty guy. But at some point logic is going to win out in this one IMHO. At least, that's what I'll keep telling myself.........

| May not matter much if they go over the cliff. Then the anti-gun people will want you with your bad assault rifle to protect them and their property and provide them nourishment by the way of food. When everyone who has become dependent on the government gets thrown to the curb like trash, what will their recourse be? They will not be able to hunt for their own food and many of us can sit back and reflect. |
