I have a good friend who owns and operates a demolition company. (Buildings, bridges, etc.) We send each other packages. VERY legal and harmless. IF he uses his company's name on the return addy,(which, includes the words, "explosive" and "demolition", I have to pick up that package at the main Post Office, no matter how small it is! If he sends a package "without" his company name on it, it will be delivered right to my front door. No matter how big it is. I always make sure that I eat some Oreo cookies and smile for the camera at the Post Office.

My point being, my friend, is that those packages from "Brownell's, Midway, "Cheaper Than Dirt", etc. are "red flagged"! And are being watched! My UPS Lady gives me the "evil eye" when I receive an "ORM-D" package with a return label from an ammo company.

Paranoia is just another word for longevity... watch your back [peep]

No you are not paranoid, the post office will check mail and they don't need a reason, they will check it for porn, and other stuff, these checks can not in themselves be used against you in court but they will use them for setting up better things that can be used against you in court. They will check packages to see if there is any thing good to steal in them, (post office thefts are rampant) if they find something else they will say the package was ripped open in transient. BEWARE this is done with the wink of law enforcement authorities.

This happens with regularity in the small town where my brother and his family lives. Many times I have sent him packages and they never make it. They must get "lost in the mail". Even things like wedding invitations don't get thru. They routinely drive to another town to send mail. Most of the town folks think the post office guy is some weirdo without a life of his own.
