[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Secured Storage Law (Page 1 of 2)

What would you feel like if a secured storage law was what everyone could agree to? Like letting the man into your life to make sure that you had a secure (need to define that) place to store your guns from the evil people of the world?
I really like the poison pill aspect of another thread, like getting something out of the deal if we get the shaft because of emotion, but would this be an easy way to get some amount of safety blanket for the sheeple. |

Wasn't such a law struck down in the Heller decision? From Wikipedia: the requirement that any lawful firearm in the home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense and is hence unconstitutional. |

So if that's what we give, what do we get? We get to be left alone until the next excuse comes up, and then we can all start suggesting other things to compromise away in a effort to be left alone again until the next time, and the next time, and the next time...

I'm all for it. My "Secure Storage " location is my house, or my boat, or my car. Wanna see my Storage unit? Sure no problem. Use Google street view. Wanna see inside my Storage Unit? Sure no problem, lemme see the warrant and read it while you frolick around.
Otherwise, GTFO and STFU. -SleeperShooter |

Yeah, I figure that is pretty much the OP's plan. And if that is his plan, he can shove it up his ass. |

Would not work. Give me an Hour and all but the best safes would be open. The only option is armed security at those schools, and giving teachers the option to carry. Any other response will merely demonstrate how good humans are at problem solving. No guns, use a Bomb, no Bomb, use Salt, water, and electricity to make chlorine gas. Hell with the plumbing sold at Home Depot, I can make a flamethrower. Ban gasoline, and copper pipe. Not bloody likely.
Humans provide a variable response. They can generate new and innovative blocks to anyones aggression. They are the only effective option to fight these mad men. Anything is not going to work. |

Trust me, "safe storage" sounds like unicorn farts and the buy-the-world-a-coke-theme to liberals, but does little to placate them, is insidiously bad, and in reality does nothing for safety.
Remember, what you consider safe storage isn't what the libs are going to want to determine as safe storage. |

Look how well it works in England. I agree with first post. Ban him now ![]() |

Requiring guns to be locked up basically removes any home defense application they have. So no, fuck that. |
| I like how this site is polarizing. I would prefer nothing less than buying whatever I want, but I'll be willing to wager that some of the hard asses are buying mags, and lowers up like they are going out of style because they have a bad gut feeling about this. I would rather have a safe full of whatever my money could buy, than whatever washington decides would be best for everyone. Explain to me how keeping a gun "secure" would effect "shall not be infringed" and I'll gladly listen. |

If you need to be explained to and educated about these things, I think you may be part of the problem. I'm past the point of explaining the meaning of the words "shall not be infringed", especially to fence sitting gun owners. |
