Another gun control thread. Might be a dupe.
Bored at work I searched for gun violence by state. Here's the 2004 statistics. Gun Violence by State Vermont and New Hampshire, which to my understanding have as liberal gun laws in the country, have the lowest gun homocides per 100,000. Two of the freest states have the lowest gun homicide rates. huh.... My state has the strictest, and is barely in the top 1/3. Play around with the sortable categories and see what other correlations there might be. |
| Interesting, but 2004 seems a little dated. Also, there are references to both "homicide" and "murder" in the link. Which is it? There is a distinct difference. Homicide includes justifiable and accidental deaths, right? So if the numbers are including that, it really doesn't show the whole picture. |
