This was a gift to my Great-Great-Great Grandfather on his wedding in 1855. May have been part of a pair.

It has been in my family ever since.

The gold round on the heel is engraved with the names of the giver and givee.

Anybody know anything about the builder, T. Bailey - New Orleans? Value?

Thanks.

No idea about the piece, but very cool esp since it has been in your family for a while.

Hope it wasn't made by Todd Bailey. It'll probably blow up if you try to shoot it.

Nice gun OP.

nice pistol.
send some picture to Lewis Drake and associates; they deal in old guns.

nice "good luck" swastika on the little container. That obviously predates the Nazis; nice piece of Americana.

Know nothing, but found this link. It seems it's a side-by-side shotgun for sale that was made by the same man.

Sounds like T. Bailey stands for Thomas Bailey who was supposedly a skilled English gunsmith that set up shop in New Orleans.
