What are good bread pans on the market? The ones we get at home seem to last for about a year and then the coating comes off.

Vollrath Stainless Loaf Pan

I haven't used this specific pan, but their cookie sheets are the best I've ever used.  I wouldn't hesitate in ordering any of their bakeware products.

Where do you think that "coating" is going?

That.

And why are you buying bread pans with a coating? Non-stick? Use fucking butter.

My wife likes Nordicware, NorPro, and MagicLine.  Cake pans, mostly.
And if you have coated pans, they should never, ever be touched by anything metal.

I have a pair of these along with a couple old school tin plate jobs.  The tin plate jobs all have had a little rust on them at times.

I also have some chicago teflon coated mini loaf pans that were expensive, they're the folded corner sheet metal variety.   They're ok but I would not buy them again, go stainless and be done.

yeah if you're going to be doing meatloaf you really need to use glass, cast iron, or SS.  You would not want to be slicing and spooning out of your teflon pans.

My wife has some ceramic/stone ones.  Not sure if they are good, but they are spendy.

Mine bought two ceramic pie pans a couple of years ago.  Since then, she hasn't touched any of her metal ones.

Interesting... is that just unpainted ceramic?

These:   http://www.chefscornerstore.com/usa-pans-medium-loaf-pan.html#.UMYVJoMqZRw

A couple of the otherwise branded pans (like Kitchen Kaboodle) are these.  I got two earlier this year and love them.  Best loaf pans I've ever had.

Shop around the internet (don't know anything about the site I linked) to find the best price.

Get Norpro Stainless Loaf Pan and never wash, just wipe out with a dry cotton cloth.

Yes...

unglazed.

Bisque (unglazed clay) will bake really nice artisan types (crusty old world) of bread.
If you want to make traditional white or whole wheat loaf bread, stainless steel is much easier to work with.
